Valentine’s Day: Celebrating More than Romance

Dec 12th, 2016 - Valentine’s Day is a day that epitomizes the celebration of love and affection.

valentine-s-day.jpgIn Latin America, however, Valentine’s Day goes above and beyond as a day to celebrate your love, both platonic and romantic, for all people in your life: El Dia del Amor y la Amistad or The Day of Love and Friendship.

While you should show your love and appreciation for your significant other and your friends year-round, why not go the extra mile to show them just how much you appreciate having them in your life, with a few simple gestures:

  1. Your Older Relatives Who doesn’t love a little pampering? Send your parents, grandparents, etc. to get a nice hour-long massage, or even a whole spa day. Once they’re relaxed and Zen, you better believe they’ll feel loved and appreciated.
  2. Your Friends In the words of Cookie Monster: “Sometimes me think, what is friend? And then me say a friend is someone to share last cookie with." And Cookie Monster is absolutely right. Who doesn’t love a delicious gooey, chocolate chip cookie that will melt in your mouth and melt your heart. Show your love for your friends with Corporate Caterers’ decorative –and delicious– Valentine’s Day cookie baskets.
  3. Your Significant Other Do something outside of the Valentine’s Day norm! Have a romantic picnic on the beach or in a meadow, go kayaking with a bottle of bubbly, or even plan a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt that takes you back down memory lane.
